About the artwork
This diptych grew from a memory of Rangiroa, French Polynesia — a place where the ocean feels so calm it almost seems to breathe. Later in Dubai I translated that feeling into the visual language of the Lines of Trust series, where figures dissolve into movement.

Two golden lines — the girl and the eel — drift in opposite directions, creating a quiet rhythm between motion and pause. The turquoise field echoes both ocean water and desert sky, holding the composition in a space of balance.

Why collectors respond to this work
This painting belongs to Aleksandra Koblova’s Lines of Trust series, where the human figure dissolves into a flowing abstract line. The work explores calm, trust, and the subtle rhythms that connect human presence with the living world. Collectors respond to Koblova’s art for its rare emotional stillness, visual clarity, and the restorative atmosphere created through minimal form and biophilic imagery.

Curatorial сontext
Koblova’s Lines of Trust series reflects a growing shift in contemporary art toward a more-than-human perspective, where humans are no longer positioned above nature but exist within a shared ecosystem of living relationships.

In this series the body is reduced to a single expressive line — echoing the freedom of late Matisse, the rhythmic movement associated with Kandinsky, and the philosophy of sumi-e, where a line carries breath, gesture, and presence.

Within this context, Koblova’s work proposes a language of radical tenderness and joy as resistance — where softness, trust, and quiet happiness become meaningful responses to the overstimulation of contemporary life. Biophilic imagery functions here not merely as depiction of nature, but as a visual space of restoration, emotional balance, and renewed connection with the living world.

Biophilic effect
Nature-based imagery has been shown to support emotional restoration and reduce stress. Artworks featuring animals, water, and open natural spaces help the nervous system shift into a restorative state.
This painting brings that biophilic calm into a living space.
