About the artwork
The image came to me in Rio de Janeiro — a city where colors feel brighter and birds seem closer to the sky. I imagined a giant blue toucan with a calm, steady gaze holding space for a moment of complete surrender. A swing passes through its beak, and a girl floats mid-air — not falling, not flying, simply feeling.
This painting explores the quiet state where thinking softens and sensing begins. Suspended between breath and movement, the girl rests in a moment of pure presence.

About the technique
Linocut is a manual printmaking process where the image is carved into the surface and printed by hand.
Each impression carries subtle variations in ink, pressure, and texture — making every piece slightly different.
This preserves the presence of the artist’s hand in every print.
The result is a rare balance between edition and individuality.

Why collectors respond to this work
This piece belongs to Aleksandra Koblova’s biophilic magical realism practice — here expressed through radical reduction.
While her paintings are known for softness and color, this work reveals the structural core of her language: presence, trust, and quiet connection — distilled to its essence.
Collectors value this work for its restraint, material honesty, and the rare ability to create impact without excess.

Curatorial сontext
This linocut extends Koblova’s exploration of the more-than-human perspective — where human and animal exist not in hierarchy, but within a shared field of presence.
By removing color and narrative density, the work shifts focus from image to state.
It aligns with contemporary tendencies toward reduction, material awareness, and perceptual clarity — where less information allows deeper experience.

Biophilic effect
Nature-based imagery — even in minimal, high-contrast form — has been shown to reduce stress, lower cognitive overload, and restore attention.
This work functions as a visual pause, bringing a sense of calm and inner stability into the space.
