About the artwork
The idea came on Easter Island, inside the crater of the Rano Kau volcano. Standing at the edge, I looked down into what felt like the quietest place in the world — a vast bowl of water, grass, wind, and time. The landscape felt ancient and self-contained, like a silent cathedral.
From that stillness came the image of a winged Moai resting in the lake, with a girl sitting peacefully on his knee. She isn’t asking for anything. She simply receives the calm that surrounds her.
