About the artwork
The idea came in Valparaíso, Chile, near the old fish market, where I encountered a colony of sea lions resting in the sun. They were wild, playful, and completely at ease in their world. Their calm curiosity stayed with me. From that moment came the image of a girl and a sea lion reaching toward each other — the quiet second when two beings from different worlds decide to meet.
This painting captures the fragile beginning of connection. Nothing is explained, nothing is negotiated — only curiosity and the simple invitation of presence.
