About the artwork
The idea came from a visit to Foxy Beach in South Africa — one of the rare places where penguins live freely in the wild. Watching them waddle along the shore and dive into the water felt quietly magical. Later I imagined a gentle reversal of roles: a girl feeding a giant penguin underwater, not as a caretaker, but simply as someone offering kindness.
This painting reflects the quiet nature of care. The girl is small and the penguin is immense, yet their connection is balanced and calm — a simple gesture of trust shared between two beings.
