About the artwork
The idea was born in Tahiti, where I saw eels swimming so close to me that it felt surreal — as if the boundary between the “wild” and the “safe” dissolved for a moment. I fed them pieces of bread and felt a strange tenderness: these slippery, ancient creatures moved with quiet confidence, circling in their own calm rhythm.

Later, I imagined one of them — now pink, with a halo — guiding a girl into the same fluid movement, drawing her into the soft spiral pulse of the water.

This painting is about entering the flow without resistance. The round format reflects the gesture of the eel — a loop of movement that creates stillness at its center. Here, the wild does not disrupt balance — it creates it. This is a portrait of harmony between oneself and the forces moving around us.

👉 that calm can exist within movement;
👉 that letting go can feel like returning to your center;
👉 that even the strange and the wild can guide gently and tenderly.

Why collectors respond to this work
This painting belongs to Aleksandra Koblova’s biophilic magical realism series, exploring calm, trust, and the quiet bond between humans and animals. Her works are collected internationally for their rare emotional stillness and restorative atmosphere.

Curatorial сontext
Koblova’s work reflects a growing shift in contemporary art toward a more-than-human perspective, where humans and animals are no longer separated by hierarchy but exist within a shared emotional ecosystem.

Her paintings propose a language of radical tenderness and the generation of joy — where softness, trust, and quiet happiness become meaningful gestures in response to the overstimulation of contemporary life.

Within this context, biophilic imagery functions not simply as depiction of nature, but as a visual space of restoration, emotional balance, and renewed connection with the living world.

Biophilic effect
Nature-based imagery has been shown to support emotional restoration and reduce stress. Artworks featuring animals, water, and open natural spaces help the nervous system shift into a restorative state.
This painting brings that biophilic calm into a living space.
